The Museum Inn This award winning pub is a few hundred yards down the road and serves excellent food in relaxed and atmospheric surroundings. There is also an informal arrangement with the pub whereby you can take meals away and bring them back to the Cowshed if you don’t fancy leaving the luxury of the Cowshed!

The Pig on the Beach Amazing views from the garden over Studland bay to the Isle of Wight. In the summer enjoy flatbreads outside without booking (12-5pm) however if you want to eat in the restaurant book in advance it’s popular!

The Square and Compasses The antithesis to the Pig but absolutely great – pie and a pint in a traditional Purbeck Pub.

Pythouse Kitchen Garden Unique restaurant and bar using ingredients sourced direct from their own garden.

Beckford Arms Lovely pub with a cracking atmosphere and food to match.

The Fontmell Another lovely country pub.

Sixpenny Handley Brewery Actually in Cranborne now. Great Ale’s brewed and drunk on site or to take away.

Petit Prince café Wimborne. Great freshly baked bread and coffee to eat in or take away.

John the Fish Great fresh fish from the south coast. The shop is tucked away in a car park just round the back of the high street in Wimborne. Don’t be put off by the low key surroundings the fish, Crab and Lobster are outstanding.

You must use the address Franklyns, Farnham, Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 8DE and specify in special instructions that it is for the Cowshed, not Frankylns (we are just next door) as the Cowshed doesn’t have its own separate address.
